Although the practice of Orthopaedics in Somalia dates back to the early years of the twentieth century, The Somali Orthopaedic Association (SOA) was officially launched on 7th July 2022.

Currently, SOA has about 40 Orthopaedic Surgeons practicing in different states of the country. Our vision is to improve the musculoskeletal health and well-being of the Somali people by providing the highest standards of orthopaedic care.
