The Somali Orthopaedic Association (SOA) invites you to its Monthly CME series featuring Three sessions designed for practitioners working alongside orthopedic surgeons and generalists interested in musculoskeletal care.

Session 3: Complications of Traditional Bone Setters

 Presenter: Dr. Yasin Barkhad, Orthopedic & Trauma Surgeon, Al-Ihsan Hospital

Learning Objective:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to :
1. Recognize complications associated with traditional bone setting
2. Promote public awareness of the potential risks involved.

Session 1: Principles of Closed Reduction and Casting

By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe the key principles of safe and effective closed reduction and casting techniques, including indications, precautions, and potential complications, with the goal of improving initial fracture management in clinical settings.

Session 2: Practical Course in Orthopedic Emergencies

Presenter: Dr. Ali Abdi

Learning Objective:

By the end of this session, participants will be able to identify and initiate the appropriate immediate management steps for common orthopedic emergencies such as open fractures, compartment syndrome, and dislocations, with a focus on timely referral and collaboration with orthopedic teams.
